Union Pacific Depot Chili Cook-Off

Dear Friend of the Cheyenne Depot,
We are extending a personal invitation to you to come to the 1st Annual Union Wireless Peppers on the Plaza, Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off. There will be three cook-offs at the Cheyenne Depot on June 12-14, 2009. Traditional red chili, chili verde (green) and salsa are the three categories for all three cook-offs. The cook-offs are as follows:
Friday, June 12th – Compete in the Mile High Regional ISC Cook-Off!
Saturday, June 13th – Compete in the Wyoming State Championship ISC Cook-Off!
Sunday, June 14th – Compete in the CASI Cook-Off!
On Friday, cooks will be competing for cash, prizes and an entry into the International Chili Society’s (ICS) 2009 World’s Cook-off Championship. On Saturday, cooks will be competing for $1,500 in prizes and another chance to cook in the 2009 World’s Cook-off Championship with $35,000 in prize money. An ICS membership is required to compete.
On Sunday, we will be hosting the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) Cook-Off. No membership is required. This event is open to all cooks and cooking teams who would like to participate. Fees to compete are $20 for one chili or salsa entry, $35 for two chili or salsa entries and $50 for all three entries. Don’t miss the fun of cooking chili and winning the title of Best Chili Cook in Cheyenne!
We hope you join us for a full weekend of cook-offs, tastings, competitions and fun! You will enjoy a free Cooks Party on Friday and Saturday nights! There will be bands on the Cheyenne Depot Plaza both days. We expect thousands of attendees, and we encourage your participation! This event is exclusively sponsored by Union Wireless and is a fundraiser for United Way of Laramie County, Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation and Cheyenne Depot Museum. The City of Cheyenne is also supporting this event. The Plains Hotel, located across from the Union Pacific Depot, is offering a Peppers on the Plaza discounted room rate of $89!
