CHEYENNE WILL DROP THE BALL ON NEW YEAR’S EVE!

Watch out New York City!  Cheyenne’s 2nd annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop will once again ring in the New Year for Cheyenne residents and visitors at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza on December 31, 2012.

A 75-ton crane will gently lower a 300 lb. steel ball with over 200 lbs. of LED lights to the plaza floor at the stroke of midnight. In addition, the event will feature fireworks, music, food vendors, and other surprises. Initial music and festivities will begin at approximately 11:00 p.m.

The public is invited to this family-friendly, free event.  Last year, an estimated 4,500 spectators attended the Ball Drop.

Local hoteliers are offering special lodging packages for New Year’s revelers.

LightsOn! created the Ball Drop as its contribution to bring vitality to downtown Cheyenne.
